If you want to make real money you must master the skills of the industry: marketing and promotion. The skill to persuasively communicate is called copywriting. Or you could call in "salesmanship in print."
If you can craft a sales presentation in written form that tells the story of your product, talks about the benefits, addresses any objections, provides testimonials, and ultimately takes the customer's credit card and processes their order you essentially have a tireless sale robot. This automated sales presentation is leverage to making more sales.
As a new business owner there is nothing more important than generating revenue by selling your products or service, in order to do this you need to know how to write a sales presentation. Mike Dillard says that this is the gateway skill to life long wealth. Master it and you will never have to worry about money again.
The subject line in your emails must sell your reader on opening it. The first few sentences of your email must sell them to finish reading the email. The body of the email must sell them on taking a particular action. The fastest way to get you to a "functional" level when it comes to copywriting is to study other successful copywriters.
When someone buys what you are selling that means the buyer bought into your reality. Your belief or reality was stronger than theirs. There is a scientific formula to translate your beliefs to others. People buy based on emotions, and then justify purchases with logic. As sales people we have to learn to instill certain emotional states and trigger desires in our prospects if we want them to respond to our offer.
When writing sales copy, we're suggesting people take a certain action (like join our opportunity), by stirring up their emotions and then offering a solutions.
The next post will give Mike Dillard's step by step guide for copywriting.
